• When using chemicals, always remember to were safety goggles.
  • Open windows to increase ventilation. (A superintendent I know used some in a apartments bathroom without ventilation, The fumes put him in the hospital for a couple of weeks).
  • Wear gloves. Certain chemicals can irritate or burn the skin, and are often hard to wash off.
  • DO NOT MIX CHEMICALS!!! When using your household chemicals, do not use drain chemicals mixing caustics and acids for they can cause a reaction or splash back.
  • They are expensive and some say they are guaranteed but are not definite. If this were the case, I would not have a job!
  • These chemicals could end up in the water supply and can harm the environment.
  • They can damage plumbing. I have witnessed them melt plastic and rubber washers and cause leaks.
  • They can tarnish the chrome around drains.
  • They may break toilets because acid releases heat when mixed with water. Porcelain doesn’t like extreme temperature changes.
